This one goes out to all my sugar-free, candida diet or diabetic readers. Because there’s no reason why you shouldn’t partake in all the brownie loving fun! These sugar-free peanut butter frosted brownies are every bit as decadent as any other brownie recipe, if not more! I love the addition of the sugar-free peanut butter frosting it adds another texture to this otherwise fudgy treat.
In addition to being sugar-free, these peanut butter frosted brownies are:
- Grain Free
- Dairy Free
- Soy Free
To sweeten these brownies I used powdered stevia. If you’re familiar with stevia in baking, a little goes a looong way. I never exceed 1-2 tiny scoops of this stuff so when I write in the recipe 1 serving, I recommend to go by the package serving size.
When choosing your peanut butter it’s important to go for one that has no added oils or sugar. Many companies sneak in these 2 inflammatory ingredients to cut the cost of production and to make the peanut butter ‘taste better’. So be diligent with checking labels to ensure you’re getting just plain old peanuts in your peanut butter. And better yet, try to buy organic in this category to avoid your exposure to pesticides. My favorite way to buy peanut butter is via the DIY machine at Wholefoods. It’s made right there in front of you so you know you’re getting a fresh ass product.
If you’re not into peanut butter or have an allergy. Then tahini would be the perfect substitute here. My favorite brand to use is the ‘365 Everyday’ brand from Wholefoods. It’s organic, contains 1 ingredient and is perfectly creamy and runny.
